Homebase Terms of Service
Effective date: 27 October 2026
Provider: Silicon, Chennai 600119, India (“we”, “us”)

By creating an account or using Homebase you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
1. What Homebase is
Homebase is a shared family organiser: calendar, chores, lists, recipes, records and related tools, with apps for adults and a simpler app for children. It runs on your phone and syncs through our servers.
2. Who can use it
- You must be at least 18 (or the age of majority where you live) to create an account or a family.
- Children can use Homebase only through an account created by their parent or guardian (an admin), who is responsible for the child's use.
- You must give accurate information and keep your sign-in and invite codes private. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
3. Families, admins and members
- Admins manage the family: they can invite people, create children's accounts, change roles, manage points and plan, and delete the family. A family always keeps at least one admin, and the person who created it stays an admin.
- Members can add and change events, lists, chores and recipes. Children can tick off chores and use lists.
- Everyone in a family can see the family's shared content. Do not add anything you do not want them to see. If you add health information about someone, make sure you have the right to do so.
- Joining a family means you agree to its admins' rules. Admins can remove members.
4. Your content
- You own your content. You give us a limited licence to store, process, display and sync it so that we can run Homebase for you and your family, and to send content you choose to our AI provider as described in the Privacy Policy.
- You must have the right to add what you add (for example, you may not upload other people's private documents without permission).
- Do not add passwords, bank or card numbers, or government ID numbers.
5. Acceptable use
Do not: break the law; harass or harm anyone; upload malware; probe, scrape or overload our service; try to access other families' data; circumvent limits (for example, trial limits or sign-in rate limits); reverse engineer the app except where the law allows; or use Homebase for a business that needs a different licence from us.
6. Reading messages
Homebase can look for dates, forms and things to bring in a message you paste, share or forward. This is done on your phone with basic rules and can miss things or get them wrong, so check dates, times and details before you add them. We are not responsible for missed events, deadlines or tasks caused by relying on a suggestion you confirmed without checking. AI reading of photos and PDFs is not available at the moment; if we add it, we will update these Terms and the Privacy Policy first.
7. Health, emergency and safety information
Homebase can store notes and an “emergency card” for convenience. It is not a medical service, emergency service or a substitute for professional advice, and it may not be available offline, on time or complete. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.
8. Plans, trial and payments
- Free trial. A new family gets a 30-day trial of Plus with no card needed. A person can have one free trial.
- After the trial, if you have not subscribed, your family moves to the free plan: everyone can still view everything, tick off chores and shopping-list items, and export their data. Adding or changing other things needs a paid plan.
- Plus and Premium are subscriptions, billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play at the prices shown there. Plus covers up to 6 people; Premium has no limit on people and lets you have more than one family.
- Renewal and cancellation. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled in your store account settings, at least 24 hours before the end of the period. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the paid period ends.
- Refunds are handled by the store under its rules. Where the law gives you a right to cancel or a refund, that right is not affected.
- Price changes. If we change a price, the store will tell you, and you can cancel before it applies.
- The plan applies to the family. If the family's plan ends, it affects everyone in it.
9. Availability and changes
We work hard to keep Homebase running but cannot promise it will always be available or error-free. We may change, add or remove features, and we will give notice of significant reductions to paid features where we can. Homebase works offline and syncs later, so changes made offline reach others only after you reconnect.
10. Ending your use
- You can stop using Homebase at any time, delete your own account, or (as an admin) delete your family from the Family page. Deleting a family removes its data for everyone.
- We can suspend or end an account that breaks these Terms or puts others at risk, after warning you when it is reasonable to do so.
- Deleting an account does not cancel a store subscription; cancel that in your store account.
11. Our rights
Homebase, its design, text and software belong to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on your devices. Open-source parts are covered by their own licences.
12. Disclaimers
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we do not promise that it will meet every need, be uninterrupted, or be free of errors. These Terms do not remove consumer rights that the law says cannot be removed.
13. Liability
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else that cannot be limited by law. Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits or lost data, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and [AMOUNT, e.g. 5,000 rupees, £50 or $50].
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of [GOVERNING LAW, e.g. England and Wales]. The courts of [COURTS] can hear any dispute, though if you are a consumer you may also bring a claim in the courts of the country where you live. [US users: ARBITRATION / CLASS-ACTION CLAUSE, only if your lawyer advises it.] Please contact us first at developers.silicon@gmail.com and we will try to resolve it.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. If a change matters, we will tell you in the app or by email before it starts. If you keep using Homebase after the change, you accept it; if you do not, you can delete your account.
